Building & Fire Prevention Construction Services is tasked with oversight for all new construction projects, additions, and alterations of existing structures, including fire life safety and fire protective systems, thru permitting, plan review, inspections and final acceptance. This is accomplished thru enforcement of the provisions of the Florida Building Code, the Florida Fire Prevention Code, and the City of Mount Dora Code of Ordinance.
LOCATION AND HOURS
The Building & Fire Prevention Construction Services is on the first floor of City Hall, located at 510 North Baker Street, Mount Dora, FL 32757. The department is open for business Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION
Effective October 1, 2011, all contractors are required to register their licenses with the City of Mount Dora. A $30 fee along with copies of the State License, Local Business Tax & Workers Compensation Policy or Exemption (policy must show City of Mt Dora as certificate holder) will be required.
